My primary love language is quality time, so during quarantine, I’ve really enjoyed the extra time to connect with George. Since we are both working from home, and around each other all day, we’ve had to get creative with ways to connect as a couple and keep it fresh! Plan a Staycation: Many of us had vacations planned, but COVID-19 had other plans, so they got cancelled. A quarantine friendly way to retreat is to change your scenery even if you are staying in. When you plan a staycation, you can explore a new view, space and city. Book an Air BnB or Hotel, and it will make you both feel revived and refreshed. You can get a room in your city like I did here, or you can take a road trip to somewhere you enjoy. Check the properties policies to see what covid precautions they are taking so that you can be at ease, and then enjoy yourself!

Try Virtual Counseling: George and I are strong believers in marriage counseling because it helps us maintain healthy communication. We’ve taken virtual counseling sessions to keep this a priority although were not physically visiting our counselors office. Go Plant Shopping: Before quarantine, we had 2 plants, now we have 9. We’ve enjoyed picking out new plants together, and learning more about plant care so that we can keep our new plants alive. We’ve re-potted, watered and fed the plants together which has been a cool bonding experience.

Try a TikTok Dance Challenge: During quarantine, I joined TikTok, and man its been so entertaining. I made George do a dance challenge with me, and we didn’t take ourselves too seriously, and we had fun.

Plan a Picnic: Grab a blanket, a picnic basket, and bring your favorite food and drinks, and enjoy each other while enjoying the fresh air.

Schedule a Photoshoot: Plan a theme, coordinate looks, and capture some new moments together. Me and George had too much fun taking these pictures together. We were sweating and laughing the whole time.

Work it Out: We’ve jogged together, done yoga together….you name it, we’ve tried it! We’ve been trying to stay active to keep our minds and bodies healthy during this season.

Do a House Project: Since we are home more, we’ve done a few home projects to furnish and decorate. We recently decorated our patio space, and I’ve sat outside on our patio everyday for fresh air, and I love the space.

Netflix & Chill: Pick a film that y’all want to watch together, and pop popcorn and make it a moment!

Cook Together: Try out some new recipes or get some new cooking appliances. During quarantine, we purchased an air fryer, and we’ve been trying out all sorts of new dishes together.
