As a new mom, one of the things that I am looking forward to most is story time with Baby Acheampong! I’m excited to kickstart his life with a collection of books that includes classics, as well as some new books that feature diverse characters and stories. As a black boy, I want him to see himself in the materials that he enjoys because representation is so important, even at an early age.
Top Shelf
You’ll notice on the top shelf that I have a collection of books for me as the mama that came highly recommended by other moms. From what I hear, I will have plenty of time in the nursery nursing baby boy or rocking him to sleep, so some reading materials focused on the mom was essential.
