Welcome to my Tribal Inspired Living Room!
Since we all are spending more time at home lately, I thought it would be great to let you into my home to check out my living room decor. George and I moved to the Plaza Midwood area of Charlotte, NC in July 2019, and we’ve been working hard to get everything decorated. We are both obsessed with African, tribal vibes, so we wanted to bring the Tribal feel into our living space. When determining a color scheme, we kept the colors neutral with black, white and cream tones. We wanted the focal point of the room to be large, art gallery sized art to really make a statement! When we were shopping for decor, we could not find the African art that we were looking for in the retail stores or online anywhere, so we sought help from a professional interior decorator, Amber (@blessedlittlebungalow) who helped us discover the work of David Ballam along with many of the tribal accessories we were looking for.
We wanted our furniture pieces to have a modern and contemporary feel, and we wanted to infuse the tribal elements into the accessories such as the accent pillows, African coffee table books and African masks. This is also our first time owning plants, so we brought in some Majestic palms and placed them in tribal inspired baskets. We love how the room came together, and now that we are home more, we are really enjoying the tribal vibes.
