Hey Guys! I wanted to check in and see how everyone is holding up. I’ve been staying home to follow the social distancing guidelines, and I’m trying to make the best out of this self-quarantine, but your girl is strrrrresssedddd. We are truly living through a very scary and uncertain time with the COVID19 pandemic impacting our world. My anxiety levels are on an all time high, and I haven’t seen this many pimples on my face since I was a teenager. I’m experiencing some major stress breakouts which lets me know that I have not been taking care of myself amidst all the #coronavirus outbreak. I’ve been making some changes to try to control what is within my control during these times, and whats within my control is me taking care of me!
Before self-quarantine, I’m sure many of you had been praying for a little more down time, but no one expected the down time to come with so much stress and chaos. I wanted to share some tips on how you too can take care of yourself while you are home during this time of self-quarantine. We all know to wash our hands, but here are some additional ideas to manage your stress and to take care of you!
Try an At-Home Mask
All of us could use a little extra pampering right now. At night, I’ve been rotating some of my favorite mask for skin, lips, eyes, and even hair. I’m literally hydrated now from my hair to my toes!
Here are some of my favorite masks for eyes, lips, skin and hair:
Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Eye Mask
Sunday Riley Sulfur Acne Treatment Mask
Innisfree Green Tea Hydrating Sleep Mask
Glamglow Supermud Clearing Mask
Tatcha Luminous Dewy Sheet Mask
Farmacy Coconut Gel Sheet Mask
Urban Skin RX Pumpkin Pore Detox Mask
Cantu Deep Nourishing Hair & Scalp Masque
Shea Moisture Jamaican Castor Oil Treatment Hair Masque
Try a Meditation App
Feeling more anxious lately? I know I have been, but using mediation apps and playing calming music has been great with helping me maintain some sense of calm in the midst of the crazy.
See my list below for my favorite apps that help with mindfulness and mental peace.
Take a Break from the News
I have watched CNN more in the past week than I have in my entire life, and the news seems to be updating by the minute, but its all so overwhelming. I have now limited myself to a few short updates throughout the day, and I’ve noticed a difference. I’m starting to spend my time doing things that are productive. Here are some things you can try!
Journaling
Facetiming family
Creating the content that you’ve been putting off. Seriously now is the best time to shoot those in home tutorials, IGTV’s and Youtube videos.
Take a walk
Do in home Yoga
Spring Clean
Pray
Take a Bath & Unwind
Seriously, sometimes the best thing you can do is light a candle and take a bubble bath. See the list below of my favorite candles, bath salts, and bubble baths that soak my cares away.
Raw Sugar Coconut Foaming Bath
Take Time Off If Needed
Many employees are being faced with the challenges of having their kids at home while they are trying to work, or with having to work in the midst of being stressed and all over the place. Sometimes, it’s ok to use a PTO day or two to shift focus on getting your house and life in order since so much change has happened in such a short amount of time. Make decisions to do whats best for you in this season. A little PTO never hurt nobody, and many employers are offering more flexibility in this season.
Take care of yourself and let me know which self care tips you are going to put into action in the comments below!
